New Year’s Adult Caribbean Sail
December
27th, 2010 – January 2nd, 2011
The
Ocean Classroom Foundation is offering a seven-day, six-night adult sail in the
Virgin Islands aboard the traditional tall
ship, Harvey Gamage from Monday, December 27 through
Sunday, January 2, 2011. Possible stops and activities may
include (but not limited to): Roti in Road Town, hiking Norman Island,
snorkeling, visting Spanish Town and the Baths, Virgin Gorda and Trellis Bay,
where we’ll celebrate the New Year in style with live salsa and steel music, a
West Indian Buffet, fireballs, moku jumbi dancers, fireworks, and more!
As
in our youth programs, the adults sail is educational in nature and full
participation in the operation of the vessel is assumed. Participants
learn all aspects of traditional seafaring from furling sail and steering to
morning chores and helping in the galley. Participants can expect to be physically active for the
duration of the program. While physical fitness, mobility and general good
health are important considerations for any wilderness activity, Ocean
Classroom does not expect participants to have previous sailing experience.
This
unique Caribbean adventure is $1500 per person
which includes all meals on board and berth. To reserve a place on this sail
please Ocean Classroom Foundation at 1.800.724.7245 (SAIL) or email us at
